2026 KAIR Visual Arts Residency (18 Months)

January 2026 – June 2027

The Visual Arts Residency is an 18-month program designed to support four outstanding visual artists in a collaborative, resource-rich environment. Three artists are selected through a competitive juried open call, while one is chosen internally as the Kranzberg Trustee Fellow in recognition of exceptional artistic merit. The Trustee Fellow is also responsible for creating a permanent installation within the Kranzberg Arts District or a prominent location in St. Louis. This residency provides artists with the time, space, and support needed to develop substantial bodies of work, foster collaboration, and fully realize their creative visions.

Residencies Available (4):

  • 3 Traditional Visual Artists (Juried)
    • Selected through a competitive open call
  • 1 Kranzberg Trustee Fellow (Internal Selection)
    • Selected internally based on exceptional artistic merit
    • Responsible for a permanent installation within the district or a prominent St. Louis location
