Through the development of artistic venues, studios and workspaces, short and long-term residencies, and community-based programming, the Kranzberg Arts Foundation provides essential infrastructure for the arts to thrive in the St. Louis region. Taking an arts-based approach to community development, the Foundation ensures we are aligning our investments with the needs and vision of the broader community.   • The Kranzberg Arts Foundation provides the essential infrastructure, resources and partnerships for the arts to thrive in the St. Louis region. We’re currently serving & supporting over 150 local arts organizations, visual artists, musicians, writers and filmmakers.
  • KAF has developed and currently operates a variety of artistic venues: theaters, visual arts studios and galleries, music studio and stages, dance studio and stages, writers suite, literary arts cafe and performance space, special event spaces and office space for nonprofit organizations. These venues include Kranzberg Arts Center, .ZACK, The Grandel, The Dark Room, The Big Top, High Low, The Marcelle, Hansen House, Sophie’s Artist Lounge and 3333; all residing in the Grand Center Arts District. In addition to these venues, our work has been instrumental in the formation of the Music at the Intersection Festival (Sept. 10 & 11, 2022), the Wednesday Night Jazz Crawl and the St. Louis Art Place Initiative.

Kitchen Manager – Job Description – Hourly + Tips

Position Overview:

The Kitchen Manager oversees all back-of-house (BOH) operations, ensuring food is prepared to brand standards, the kitchen runs efficiently, and staff follow proper safety and sanitation procedures. This role balances leadership, quality control, and hands-on cooking support during peak hours.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily BOH operations, including line, prep, and cleaning tasks.
  • Train, schedule, and manage kitchen staff.
  • Maintain consistent execution of menu items (smash burgers, cheesesteaks, shrimp tacos, house-made fries & sauces).
  • Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and receiving to minimize waste and control costs.
  • Enforce food safety and sanitation standards (local health codes & company policy).
  • Work alongside staff during peak hours to ensure smooth service flow.
  • Communicate with FOH leadership to maintain strong service coordination.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of kitchen leadership or supervisory experience (fast casual preferred).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper kitchen procedures.

 


 

THE KEY Cooks / Prep – Job Description – Hourly + Tips

Full & Part time Positions

Position Overview:

Cooks and Prep Staff are responsible for preparing and cooking all menu items according to recipes and standards. They ensure food quality, speed, and consistency while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook menu items including smash burgers, cheesesteaks, fries, tacos, and sauces.
  • Follow portion and presentation standards for every dish.
  • Assist with daily prep tasks (portioning, sauce prep, fry cutting).
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures at all times.
  • Communicate with team members and support a smooth service flow.

Qualifications:

  • Prior kitchen or line cook experience preferred (but training available).
  • Ability to work quickly and consistently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in food quality.
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.

 


 

FOH Counter / Prep – Job Description – Hourly + Tips

Full & Part time Positions

Position Overview:

The FOH Counter/Prep staff provide friendly, efficient guest service at the counter while also assisting with light food preparation. This hybrid role ensures guests have a positive experience while keeping the flow between FOH and BOH smooth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests, take orders accurately, and process payments.
  • Assist guests with menu questions and provide recommendations.
  • Ensure order accuracy and coordinate with kitchen staff for timely service.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the dining and counter area.
  • Assist with light prep work (sauces, garnishes, packaging, stocking).
  • Handle to-go and delivery orders with accuracy and care.
  • Uphold hospitality standards to create a welcoming guest experience.

 

Qualifications:

  • Prior customer service or food service experience preferred.
  • Friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor.
  • Comfortable multitasking between guest service and prep duties.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
