Why This Program Exists: Sophie’s Commitment to Artists and Community
Sophie’s Artist Lounge is more than a typical nightclub; it’s an arts-centered space built on values of equity, diversity, and inclusion. Our programming embodies these principles, with staff, artists, DJs, and curators all playing vital roles in advancing this mission. Through this commitment, Sophie’s fosters an inclusive community that celebrates the rich diversity of identities and perspectives that shape our cultural landscape.
What We’re Looking For
- Residency Duration: Two six-month terms (July–December 2025 or January–June 2026)
- Criteria for Selection: Style, diversity, mission alignment, exposure potential, and community impact
- Eligibility: DJs based in the Saint Louis Metropolitan area
Onboarding and Timeline
Step 1: DJ Applications
- When: March – April
- How: Submit through “The Call” on the KAF website.
Step 2: DJ Selection
- When: Early May
Step 3: Notification
- When: Late May – Early June
- Process: A dedicated committee finalizes schedules and confirms participants. Selected DJs are notified directly.
