The Big Top is Back for Circus Flora and MATI in 2026

The Big Top has made its return to Grand Center – the iconic red and white tent is back up on Washington Ave. and ready for its 2026 debut as Circus Flora kicks off next week. A beloved summer tradition in St. Louis, Circus Flora celebrates its 40th anniversary season with an all-new show, Flying High, running June 4-21. Once again, Circus Flora is set to dazzle audiences of all ages with its unique combination of world-class circus performers, exceptional storytelling, and live original music.

In Flying High Circus Flora transforms an ordinary high school into an extraordinary academy of wonder. Step into halls and classrooms filled with a mix of world-class acrobats, aerialists, jugglers, and class clowns – along with an unforgettable faculty whose astonishing skills turn every moment into a spectacular surprise. Plus, for the first time in Circus Flora’s 40-year history, this year’s show will feature a human cannonball!

“Circus Flora has always been about what happens when artists and audiences come together—when a room holds its breath, then erupts in laughter or applause. After 40 years in St. Louis, seeing generations of families return summer after summer is deeply moving. This anniversary season celebrates that shared history and the simple, powerful joy of experiencing live performance together,” says Artistic and Executive Director Jack Marsh.

Tickets to Circus Flora’s Flying High are on sale now through all MetroTix outlets and by phone at 314-534-1111. Tickets can also be purchased at the Fabulous Fox Theater Box Office, located at 531 North Grand Blvd.

Following Circus Flora’s run, The Big Top will transform to a main stage venue for MATI 2026 on Friday, July 17 and Saturday, July 18. MATI weekend features more than 100 national, regional and St. Louis-based performances and presentations. With five main stages, including The Big Top, The Fabulous Fox Theatre (new), The Sovereign, Jazz St. Louis, and Sophie’s Artist Lounge, MATI is taking full advantage of Grand Center Arts District’s world-class music and art infrastructure to deliver a fully walkable indoor-outdoor summer festival experience.
