The Kranzberg is located in the Big Brothers Big Sisters building at 501 N. Grand.

Consisting of four distinct spaces: a black box theater; a studio performance space; an intimate gallery; and an education center for Craft Alliance Center of Art + Design, The Kranzberg hosts a plethora of performances, exhibitions, and events (both public and private) throughout the year.

The Black Box is a fully equipped theater which can seat up to 100 people depending on set design and configuration. It currently serves as the home to Upstream Theater, Consuming Kinetics Dance Company, and UMSL’s Theatre Department. When not being used by one of the resident companies, the Black Box is available for rent on a daily, nightly, or weekly basis.

The Studio is a beautiful room that seats up to 90 people in a cabaret-style setting and is equipped with a piano, theatrical lights, professional sound, and a/v projection equipment. This multi-purpose room is used most frequently for intimate concerts, but is also used to screen films, host private parties and corporate events. The Studio is available for rent on a daily, nightly, or weekly basis.

The Gallery at The Kranzberg supports and showcases outstanding relevant works from a diverse range of artists in the St. Louis community.

In collaboration with area non-profits, artists, and educators, the Gallery challenges established concepts of what art is and does, and engages with the community in new and meaningful ways. This spirit of innovation, experimentation, and community make the Gallery at The Kranzberg one of the premier visual arts destinations in the Midwest.
